Countdown to MSC Meraviglia

MSC Meraviglia is set to debut in June 2017 in the Mediterranean and with just under 12 months to go MSC Cruises have revealed further details of this next generation of ship.
The ship aims to meet every possible need for guests and will feature unique entertainment, a broad range of dining options as well as a range of accommodation and luxurious wellness choices. Here’s what guests have to look forward to so far.

Entertainment – Cirque du soleil

The highlight in terms of entertainment on board, and unique to the ship, will be the introduction of Cirque du Soleil into a custom built venue at the aft of the ship. Two new shows will debut on board within the new Carousel Lounge, together with specialist dining being offered for 50 of the 450 guests in the venue. The venue will feature a 180° circular glass wall, with the most cutting edge entertainment and rigging equipment. In addition to this there will also be a large theatre towards the front of the ship which will offer a multitude of shows across a cruise, with up to 3-shows a day.

Accommodation

Enhancing their accommodation choice on board, the ship will feature a multi-generational, modular cabin design whereby up to three cabins can be combined to accommodate up to 10 guests. A new quadruple cabin has also been designed for families of up to four, including a large living space that doubles as a bedroom at night.

MSC Yacht Club

The MSC Yacht Club, the lines ship-within-a-ship concept, returns to Meraviglia, featuring an enhanced and enlarged offering contained within three exclusive decks. The area will boast 78 suites, 15 inside cabins and two large apartments. The two apartment suites have been designed with a large living room and two balconies, one of which is a large outdoor space that has a dining table for eating al fresco and a private whirlpool.

The Yacht club will also feature an exclusive lounge and restaurant, together with their own private lift to the MSC Aurea Spa on board.

Pools and outdoor deck

MSC Meraviglia offers guests a choice of four elegantly designed pool areas. These include:

  •  The main pool, inspired by Miami’s South Beach, has the most generous pool space at sea (approx. 25 metres). A buffet is located nearby with options for indoors or al fresco dining;

  •  A 10 metre indoor pool, with a magrodrome that can be opened in sunny weather;
  •  An aft pool that affords amazing views of the ships wake. At night the area will be transformed into a entertainment space where guests can dance under the stars; and
  •  A private pool deck for the use of Yacht Club members.

Food and drink

There will be a variety of dining options on board, appealing to a wide range of people. A number of restaurant concepts will return to the ship together with some new venues such as the Kaito Teppanyaki Restaurant and an American-style steakhouse. Further details on the various eateries will be revealed over the course of the next few months.

Mediterranean Style Promenade

Linked closely to the main atrium of the ship, which will feature panoramic glass lifts overlooking the ocean, there will be the Mediterranean style indoor promenade. The promenade will feature an 80 metre LED sky that will create a unique atmosphere 24-hours a day. The promenade will act as the social focal point of the ship. Adjoining the promenade will be a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, including from award-winning French chocolatier and pastry chef Jean Philippe Maury.
