AmaMagna – Accommodation

For me, Accommodation is perhaps the most important element of any holiday or cruise.  If I don’t feel comfortable, or like I can relax it can have a real effect on my holiday – and I can imagine you feel the same.

I’ve already spoken about how chic and forward-thinking AmaMagna is in terms of design and this translates through to its various staterooms and suites.  If anything, I feel as if the rooms are even more daring than the public spaces with striking colours and design.

As AmaMagna is double width, you’d expect that there would be more cabins on board, but in fact there’s only 40 more, with the focus on providing larger and better accommodation.  There are 98 staterooms on board, with 53 of these being suites.  Of this, there is one Owner’s Suite, six Grand Suites, 46 SA/SB suites, 34 balcony staterooms and 11 window staterooms.  With this range of cabins, there’s something to suite everyone.

What can you expect?

All staterooms on board are exceptionally well appointed. Ranging from 205 sq. ft. To 710 sq. ft., they are all also very spacious, with clever design incorporating significant storage – I was finding new storage days into my trip!

Key features to all staterooms include:

  • Remote control temperature and lighting controls, via tablet
  • Spacious marble bathrooms
  • Lots of storage and vanity area, with facilities such as hair-dryer, a safe and telephone
  • Flat-screen TV and personal iMac in each stateroom, including on-demand TV, movies and music library
  • Complimentary internet and Wi-Fi
  • Complimentary bottle water, replenished daily.
  • On board laundrette for personal use, or you can get clothes pressed and washes for a fee

You can see that get a lot of room for your money on board, and I felt there was less of a difference as you went up the grades on board – with suites benefitting from free mini bars, laundry, room service and butlers.

I found AmaMagna to be really quiet as well.  You really felt insulated from the outside world while in your room.

Window (D, E) and balcony (AA, AB) Staterooms

The two starting staterooms on board range from 205 sq. Ft. and 252 sq. Ft. Respectively and feature all the facilities outlined above.  The AA and AB balcony staterooms also feature a full balcony.

Suite (SA, SB)

We stayed in a SA class stateroom suite.  It’s honestly a beautifully designed space, not to mention expansive and really comfortable.  I think it’s one of the classiest staterooms I’ve seen on a cruise ship, on ocean or river.

Just look at this space! It features a large open plan living and sleeping space, a vanity area with iMac and a separate toilet and bathroom. The bathroom itself is massive, with marble, a double sink, luxurious amenities and large rainfall shower.

Grand (GS) and Owner’s Suites (OS)

At the top of the range of suites on board you’ll find both the six grand suites and the unique owners suite. These really build on the other categories of staterooms on board with the added bonus of even more space.

They are really something else, with even bigger separate living areas, dining areas, larger bathrooms including a free-standing bath, and between 474-710 sq. ft. of space.
