Norwegian Escape has now been delivered to Norwegian Cruise Line and she is set to debut on 25th October in Hamburg, Germany. She promises to push the Norwegian Cruise Line philosophy of Freestyle Cruising to the next level. The interior design will focus around a clean and modern contemporary feel aimed to appeal to a broad audience. At just under 165,000 tonnes she will also be the biggest ship in the Norwegian fleet, introducing a number of innovations and firsts not only for the line, but the industry as a whole.
Building on the successful DNA of the Breakaway class of ships, Escape will feature new dining and drinking options such as Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville (the first at sea!), Food Republic where guests will be able to sample cuisine from across the world by the miami based Pubbelly Boys, or enjoy and indulge in latin-infused creations by Iron Chef Jose Garces – to name but a few of the venues. The ship will debut two Tony Award winning musicals: After Mignight and Million Dollar Quartet. An interactive dining experience will also take you back to the era of the Brat Pack, a homage to the musical talent of John Hughes’ films, at The Supper Club. The ship will also feature a new wine bar, The Cellars, which is a Michael Mondavi Family creation.
Escape will allow you to get in touch with your adventurous side with their signature water slides including Aqua Racer, a tandem water slide. You’ll also be able to test you limits with the multi-story Ropes Course, including walking the plank over the edge of the ship. If that’s not to your style you can relax in the Mandara spa on board, or within some of the enhanced adult only areas such as Spice H2O, including a new waterfall grotto. The ship also features an expanded Haven, an exclusive sanctuary at the top of the ship with luxurious, will-appointed and spacious suites.
Kids won’t miss out either with the new interactive aqua park, including tipping buckets and water cannons, and of course an enhanced youth programs at Splash Academy and Entourage.
As with all Norwegian ships, she is adorned with artwork on the hull. For Escape, renowned wildlife marine artist Guy Harvey has been commissioned to create art that spans the entire length of the hull depicting underwater scenes of marine wildlife found in the Caribbean, including his signature sailfish.
