For me, wellbeing is a key foundation of any cruise experience. This is my happy place and somewhere I escape the daily hustle and bustle of life to relax and unwind, particularly as I have a chronic illness and need to look after myself.
Princess has you covered in this respect with a number of offering on board to feed your soul.
Lotus Spa
Firstly, let’s head to the Lotus Spa. As the name suggests, this is the on board spa space which includes a hairdressers and large wellness complex including treatment rooms, featuring a variety of treatments, and The Enclave (more on that shortly).
I’ve had quite a few massages on cruise ships over the years and I can tell you, they vary in quality. However, I’ve had a number on Princess and they have been some of the best. Enchanted Princess was no different as I opted for a hot stone massage on the first morning and it was one of the best I’ve had to date. Top tip, I find having a massage on the first morning really helps you unwind into the cruise. To keep costs down, I do recommend keeping an eye out for deals on port days, as the spa will inevitably have some specials on.
So, turning to The Enclave. Right at the centre of the Lotus Spa you will find this wellness area. This is a thermal suite to really focus on unwinding which features a thalassotherapy pool, a number of types of saunas and heated beds. For a fee, you can opt to spend time here after a treatment ($40 a day) or get a pass for the entirety of your cruise ($159 though the price does vary).
Up on Deck 17 aft you will find a large gym on board Enchanted Princess. This features a variety of state-of-the-art gym machines and plenty of equipment, even if the gym is busy (which it wasn’t during our cruise).
The Sanctuary
For adults, you also have The Sanctuary. This really is a gem on a Princess ship. The Sanctuary is a private oasis situated right at the front of the ship overlooking the bow. For a small fee adults can choose can choose to spend half ($20pp) or a whole day ($40pp) here relaxing and indulging, with signature drinks, light meals and you can opt to enjoy an al fresco massage (in the same way you can in the main lotus spa and for the same price). Attentive stewards will also look after your need throughout the day.
There are so many ways to unwind on Enchanted Princess. Where would you start?Let me know in the comments and on social media.
