Royal Caribbean has unveiled the proposed new Terminal A, nicknamed the Crown of Miami for its distinctive angular shape.
The terminal would be able to handle the world’s largest cruise ships, although Royal have yet to confirm what ships will utilise the new infrastructure.
The English firm Broadway Malyan has been selected to design the new terminal, after a global competition was held between five of the world’s leading architectural firms. The firm was selected because of their creative thinking and cutting-edge design.
The project needs to be voted on and agreed with Miami-Dade County, but all being well the new Terminal would open in late 2018.
