The most instagrammable places on Celebrity Beyond
Celebrity Beyond is not only one of the most stunning, instagrammable ships at sea but has some of the best design and architecture found anywhere in the World. She is the latest in the award-winning Edge class of ships (including Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, and soon Celebrity Ascent) which have won numerous awards since their debut.
So, as you may expect, there are plenty of Instagrammable moments to be had on board. Here is our guide to six of the must have moments on board Celebrity Beyond.
- Sunset bar
- Grand plaza
- Magic carpet
- Resort deck
- A love letter to art
- Eden
While this article focusses on Celebrity Beyond, it is also applicable to many ships in the Celebrity fleet (but does not include the Galapagos fleet).
Sunset bar
The sunset bar on board Celebrity Beyond is a reimagining of this sought-after sail-away space, with its Moroccan inspired styling and décor by interior designer, Nate Berkus. It’s truly photogenic and perfect for a photo or two during sundown.
Every Celebrity ship features a sunset bar, so is the perfect spot to celebrate the start of a holiday or enjoy another perfect sunset.
Grand plaza
The Grand Plaza is honestly another stunning space on board Celebrity Beyond, and one of my personal favourites. These ships have been designed from the ground up to celebrate design and architecture – and no more so than the Grand Plaza, designed by Jouin Manku. Taking its inspiration from both the piazzas of Italy, while also playing homage to the history of the ocean liner, it is perfect for an instagrammable snap here and there throughout the day, but arguably comes into its own during the evening when you’ve donned your glad rags and are ready for an evening on board.
There is also no better place to get a selfie with a cocktail, or even better with one of the amazing bartenders at the incredibly designed Martini Bar.
All Edge class ships feature a Grand Plaza, while both Solstice and Millennium Class ships feature their own spectacular atriums as well – some of which feature a real tree in the middle. The Martini bar is also a space you should seek out to spend time in on any ship, with its ice-topped bar and incredible libations. It’s all stunning.
Magic carpet
The Magic Carpet is a unique feature on board Edge class ships, including Celebrity Beyond. This space is cantilevered over the side of the ship and affords views directly over the ocean and out to sea. It’s a great spot to watch the world go by, and of course grab a picture. Again, it is very photogenic both during the day and evening – so, why not grab a cocktail and watch as you depart on your adventure.
The magic carpet moves between different decks, so at certain times of day it will be high up and afford views right out over the horizon, while in the evenings it adjoins deck 5 linked to Raw on 5 and close to the water giving it a totally different cool vibe.
You can enjoy the Magic Carpet on Celebrity Apex, Beyond and Edge.
Resort Deck and Rooftop Garden
The Resort Deck is a focal point of activity on the top deck of Celebrity Beyond and her sisters. Much of this space has been designed by Tom Wright, famed designed of one of Dubai’s most iconic buildings, the Burj Al Arab, together with household names such as Patricia Urquiola and Kelly Hoppen. This is an asymmetrical space that seeks to connect guests with the sea with an outward facing design. There’s so much to this space it’s hard to know where to start, from the variety of seating and cabanas, incredible art features and design, huge pool, martini glass-shaped hot tubs and multi-level running track.
Close by you will also find the stunning Rooftop Garden. Described as a hidden pocket park, there’s lots of comfy seating situated within lots of lush foliage. On beyond, this space has been enlarged and features two infinity plunge pools cantilevered off the side of the ship. Grab a book and while the day away here relaxing.
Again, all Celebrity ships feature cool pool spaces to enjoy. On Solstice class ships, you can also find a truly unique space – the Lawn Club featuring real grass and great views.
A love letter to art
There is so much art to immerse yourself and enjoy on these ships. Whether that’s pieces found on the various stairways, to incredible sculptures situated in the Grand Plaza and other spaces, such as entire corridors which are a piece of art – honestly, I don’t know what an Instagram worthy space is if not this! Make sure you spend time to take it all in.
All Celebrity ships features multi-million-dollar art collections to enjoy in a similar way to Celebrity Beyond.
Eden
Eden truly is a wonderful space on board Celebrity Beyond and her sister ships. This is one of the grandest spaces found on Celebrity cruises, with an outward facing multi-level design that draws on nature with large windows that let in so much light. A particular highlight has to be the winding walkway that encompasses the whole space and inspired by the Fibonacci Sequence found throughout nature.
This space isn’t just about design, as it is transformative with a character that shifts throughout the day. In the morning relax and chill out here with a coffee, or in the afternoon indulge in your playful side with cooking classes and other activities. In the evening the space transforms again into a wonderland with an ever-evolving experience – each night being different from the last. Just make sure your camera is charged for those instagrammable moments!
If that wasn’t enough, there’s also the Eden Restaurant, with great views, an open kitchen and manus that draw inspiration from nature.
Eden is an exclusive space found on board Edge Class ships.
